Marvel Studios stated Thursday that it’ll not recast the character performed by the late Chadwick Boseman.

“(Boseman’s) portrayal of T’Challa the Black Panther is iconic and transcends any iteration of the character in another medium from Marvel’s previous, and it is for that cause, that we are going to not react the character,” Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige stated throughout his presentation at Disney Investor Day.

“Nonetheless, to honor the legacy that Chad helped us construct, we wish to proceed to discover the world of Wakanda and all of the wealthy and diversified characters launched within the first movie.”

The sequel is scheduled to be launched on July 8, 2022, and might be written and directed by Ryan Coogler.

Boseman died in August at age 43, after preventing a personal battle with colon most cancers.
“Black Panther” made greater than $1 billion globally in lower than a month after its 2018 launch.
In a tribute following Boseman’s demise, Coogler stated he was among the many many who had no information of Boseman’s sickness.

“As a result of he was a caretaker, a pacesetter, and a person of religion, dignity and pleasure, he shielded his collaborators from his struggling,” Coogler wrote. “He lived a gorgeous life. And he made nice artwork.”
