Fenway Park, home to the Boston Red Sox since 1912, will serve as a host for the Covid-19 program starting on February 1.

Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker announced last week that Fenway Park would join the Gillette Stadium (home of the New England Patriots) as the second-largest venue in the state, and the Red Sox made it official on Monday.

A mass vaccination facility in Fenway Park will open next month, but anyone who deserves to be shot can make an appointment starting on Tuesday by visiting cic-health.com/vaccines.

The Fenway area is scheduled to open on February 1. The initial capacity will be about 500 vaccines a day and will rise to thousands.

“Getting our population vaccinated is a huge public health task with government officials needing co-operation and support from various industries. We are eager to rejuvenate our environment so that we can all begin the process of recovery from this terrible virus, ”

Said by Red Sox president/CEO Sam Kennedy

“Mass vaccination facility such as Fenway Park is critical to our vaccination distribution process – providing easy, safe, and efficient access to thousands of residents,” said Baker. “Joining Gillette Stadium, our management is very grateful to the sports teams in our city for coming up to support the Commonwealth during the pandemic. We thank the Red Sox and CIC Health for their cooperation and look forward to opening more public vaccination centers soon.”
