The best Spanish player Bryan Gil has been one of the revelations of the Spanish football season of 2020/21, with the winger – who will be 20 years old on Thursday – playing well on loan from Eibar from Sevilla.

Several clubs are interested in him, especially as his 35 million euro release clause is not much, and one of these clubs could be Barcelona.

The German Vaya Ballabriga ‘Mani’ is Barcelona’s most respected scout and, over the years, has helped find Ansu Fati, Andres Iniesta, and Dos Santos brothers Jonathan and Giovanni. He spoke on Cadena’s SER ‘Què T’hi Jugues’ program on Gil.

“He is currently the best Spanish footballer and I compare him to Neymar,” said Mani.

“You can do certain things and you can do a lot of things, because you can play back to back in the middle or left wing. That’s amazing.

“I’ve talked to the Roman Planes about him and he thinks Bryan Gil.

“If he is signed now his release clause is 35m euros, but if he signs a new contract with Sevilla he will still have a release clause worth 150 million euros.”

Bryan Gil and Sevilla’s current contract is valid until 2023 and his loan spell at Eibar will expire in the summer.

Gil is currently on loan at Sevilla in Eibar. The 19-year-old striker has played 14 La Liga games this season, scored three times and received help. The boy has been offered a contract with Sevilla until the summer of 2023.

The Mani are testing Barcelona in Andalusia and have previously helped bring in players such as Andres Iniesta and Ansu Fati to the Camp Nou.

Who is Bryan Gil?

The best Spanish player Gil joined Sevilla at the age of 10 and joined the youth ranks on the Andalusian side. He made his big debut for the 17-year-old club drawing 1-1 against Atletico Madrid in January 2019.

His first aid to the team came in April of the same year playing for Real Valladolid and saw him write his name in the history books as the first player born in the 21st century to provide assistance in La Liga.

Meanwhile, Gil’s first goal came in a 5-0 victory over Rayo Vallecano in April 2019 and he also saw the young boy become the first player born in the 21st century to hit the top flight in Spain.

Gil made history later with the help of the Europa League.

The boy was loaned out to Eibar in October 2020 and spent a little time making an impression on Jose Luis Mendilibar’s side. Gil has been shown regularly and scored his first goals for his new side in a 2-0 win over Granada earlier this year.

Sevilla boss Julen Lopetegui thinks Gil has a great future in Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán and talked about the youngster, as well as Alejandro Pozo, his fiancé, before his club’s clash with Eibar in January, according to Football Espana.

He said, “They have made significant growth and will be part of Sevilla’s future. Bryan, in particular, could be a reference to Sevilla in the future. They have a very good season.

Barcelona Rely on Youth

Barcelona’s interest in youth comes at a time when the club is struggling financially and may find it difficult to bring in big names. Yet the Catalan giants have also shown their willingness to rely on youth.

Stletslets Pedri and Francisco Trincao arrived at the club last summer and made an impact at Camp Nou. Pedri has already become a regular under Ronald Koeman, and Trincao opened his club account with a 3-2 victory on Sunday with Real Betis.

Young people are not the only ones who seem to have a great future in Barcelona. Riqui Puig, Frankie de Jong, Oscar Mingueza, Ansu Fati, Sergio Dest, and Ousmane Dembele are all under 24 and enjoy many minutes under Koeman this season.
